Individual Therapy

I recognize that everyone’s therapeutic journey looks different, which is reflected in my client-centred and trauma-informed approach.  I aim to create a safe, authentic, and non-judgmental environment to allow individuals to explore their goals, values, and strengths, and identify barriers that are causing distress in life.  I work with teens (16+) and adults.

Focus Areas

-Eating Disorders

-Grief and Loss

-LIFE in general

-Managing Stress

-Mood Disorders

-Perfectionism and People-Pleasing

-Relationship Issues

-Self-Worth and Self-Acceptance

-Trauma and PTSD

Trauma-informed in a nutshell means viewing your problems through the lens of "What has happened to you in your life experiences?" versus "What is wrong with you?"  Unfortunately, not every family member, friend, teacher, healthcare professional, institution, etc., is trauma-informed.  Not being trauma-informed can intensify feelings of self-blame, guilt, and shame for those who disclose to others the difficult life experiences that they have endured.  One over-arching goal of therapy is to reduce a person's emotional suffering, not add to it.

Therapeutic Approaches

-Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

-Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

-Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

-Internal Family Systems (IFS)

-Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)

-Trauma-Focused Therapy

Phone or Virtual Sessions

I offer therapy from the comfort of a safe space chosen by you.  For virtual sessions, I use a service called Jane, which is a secure video conferencing system that aligns with the criteria laid out in privacy guidelines from PHIPAA and PIPEDA.

The choice is yours in how you'd like to meet!

Free Consultation

I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to discuss what you are hoping to get out of therapy, and to determine if my therapeutic approach is a good fit for your needs.
